Op geleide van kweek wordt therapie aangepast.
Duur behandeling na perforatie tractus digestivus is 2 tot 6 weken, afhankelijk van uitgebreidheid perforatie/lekkage, eventuele abcesvorming en drainage mogelijkheden.
