General comments
Voorafgaand aan start therapie botbiopt en 2 sets bloedkweken afnemen.
Bij volwassenen is een osteomyelitis doorgaans chronisch.
Indien sprake is van een actue osteomyelitis is de totale behandelduur 4-6 weken.

Bij sikkelcelanemie/ (functionele) asplenie: cave salmonella spp.
- empirisch ceftriaxon iv 2dd 2g (ipv cefuroxim)
