In principe niet behandelen tenzij langduringe/substantiele darmklachten of immuungecompromitteerd.
Infectie is zelflimiterend in immuuncompetente patienten.
Cystoisospora belli wordt in oude literatuur Isospora belli genoemd.

Ciprofloxacine bij kinderen alleen op strikte indicatie toepassen in verband met een relatief groter risico van artropathie.
