Deze profylaxe is inferieur aan cotrimoxazol. Alleen gebruiken als cotrimoxazol niet mogelijk is

General comments

  • Profylaxe is aangewezen bij Toxoplasma sero-postieve ontvangers (en zeker als donor sero-negatief is; R+/D-).
  • Duur van profylaxe is minimaal 6 (en liefst 12) maanden. Continuering daarna is afhankelijk van immuunstatus.
  • Indien eerste keuze (cotrimoxazol) niet mogelijk is i.v.m. toxiciteit / allergie, consulteer consulent infectieziekten voor alternatieve profylaxe en/of preventief monitoringsplan (regelmatige Toxoplasma PCR op bloed).
