General comments
Penicilline resistentie bij pneumokokken is zeldzaam in Nederland, echter in sommige landen komt dit veel voor. Bij (recent) bezoek aan het buitenland en matig/geen klinisch herstel moet rekening worden gehouden met deze optie. Overleg in dat geval met de consulent infectieziekten.
